Salford's Health Investment for Tomorrow

5 Projects that are changing the face of health services in Salford

Ordsall - Consultation *NOW TAKING PLACE*

You may remember that in September 2006 we asked you whether you thought it would be a good idea to build the community health facilities for Ordsall on the site of the District Centre. The majority of people who attended the consultation agreed that this site is the ideal location.

At our last consultation, we promised we would invite everyone to come back and look at the plans for the District Centre once they were ready. We are now at that stage. We also want to show you our initial ideas and plans for the former St. Clement’s school site.

WHY ARE YOU CONSULTING ON TWO SITES AT THE SAME TIME?

This is an important consultation and what we decide to do on the District Centre site will have an impact on the St. Clement’s school site and vice versa. We have a number of important questions that need answers, such as:

· Should we make the path next to St. Clement’s school into a through route for cars as part of the proposed east-west route through Ordsall?

· If we build on the redundant sports pitch at St. Clement’s school, what kind of replacement open space is most needed in Ordsall?

· How big is the demand for allotments in Ordsall?

· Did you know the British Legion was moving and where it is going?

· What services should the new community health facilities provide?

CAN YOU HELP?

We want to show you the plans and explain our proposals. We are inviting you to come and talk to us at some drop-in sessions in Ordsall. If you can’t attend then the plans will also be available for viewing at the Heart of Ordsall marketing suite on Ordsall Lane after the consultation. The times of the drop-in sessions are below. We have tried to make them as convenient for you as possible. Representatives from the council, Salix Homes, architects and LPC Living will be available to present plans and pictures. Please come along to a session and give us your views, it should only take 10 minutes of your time!
